How does it work?
Better understanding of how the face ages has identified that there is:
- a significant loss of structural support due to bone resorption,
- fat loss (lipoatrophy)
- downward migration of soft tissue.
The majority of these changes are most noticeable in the mid-face – defined roughly as the region from the lower eyelid to the area just above the top lip.
What does it treat?
A 3-dimensional approach to mid-face volume restoration with injectable dermal fillers can have significant aesthetic benefit.
Dermal fillers (such as Juvederm Voluma) can be injected into the deep structures of the face to restore volume.
When injected more superficially, dermal fillers also improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles.
The benefits
Treating the mid-face with dermal fillers can result in improvement of multiple regions of the face:
- tear-troughs,
- nasolabial folds
- cheeks
Dermal fillers can be used in combination with other treatments such as muscle relaxing injections and or lasers to achieve optimum results.
